Fr. Anthony J. Kelly, C.S.B. ’40†
Teacher * Missionary * Scholar * Alumnus
Fr. Anthony J Kelly graduated from St. Michael’s College School in 1940 and went into the Basilian novitiate. He was ordained in 1950. He spent the next three decades at St. Michael’s teaching Latin, Greek and Religious Studies.
Fr. Kelly is best remembered for his care for the needy in his many food, clothing and money drives at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter.
In 1982 he was sent to Lethbridge, Alberta where he served at St. Michael’s hospital and as a pastor of St. Joseph’s Parish. In 1992 he retired to Basilian Anglin House in Toronto.
Sadly, Father passed way September 29th 2001. With great pride we placed the name of this holy, humble and sagacious Basilian teacher in the Order of St. Michael.
