Fr. Matthew Mulcahy, C.S.B. †

Fr. Matthew Mulcahy is well-known in Catholic Education in Canada. He has founded schools, planned academic programs and taught in many parts of the country. Fr. Mulcahy always had a great love of sport. He has coached golf, curling and archery. He has to his credit, Canadian and Provincial Championships in badminton, curling and archery. For many years, Fr. Matt looked after the repair and cleanliness of the school’s football equipment.

Fr. Matt’s love of Catholic education kept him volunteering and active at St. Mike’s. He understood that Catholic education should be an exercise in academic and moral excellence. It should produce men who are competent in the world of business and capable of forming loving and caring relationships within family.

In conferring The Order of St. Michael on Father Matt, St. Michael’s recognized a great teacher, administrator, religious and friend of youth.
