Alumni Connect to Discuss the Future of Real Estate in Toronto
Real estate never ceases to be a popular topic of conversation as witnessed at the most recent Alumni Information Series.
The sixth edition of the information series welcomed double its average attendance as featured guests D’Arcy McConvey and Adrian Rocca from the Class of 2000 discussed what the future may hold for this industry.
“Both D’Arcy and Adrian are big wigs in the real estate world and had a ton of valuable information to share,” says Ron Scarafile ’05, Alumni Association Executive. “Whether you were a university student looking to pursue a career in real estate or an investor that is interested in learning about the real estate landscape in the GTA, D’Arcy and Adrian had you covered. This event was highly informative and the audience was obviously engaged due to the volume of questions that were asked.”
McConvey is the current Executive Director of Capital Markets at Greybrook Realty Partners, and Rocca brought his expertise as the CEO of Fitzrovia Real Estate.
Joining moderator, Matt Montemurro ‘05, the panelists discussed their views on the current market, how it has performed throughout the pandemic, and how it looks moving forward. They included explanations from understanding the rental market to views on corporate culture. The panelists shared their strategies on how they adapted during the pandemic, and entertained a lively question and answer period.
Alumni spanning the last 53 years of graduation classes were in attendance on the 90-minute Zoom session, including an alumnus joining from Seoul, South Korea.
“An informative discussion on the trends and outlooks in both the residential and commercial real estate markets of Toronto,” says first-time Alumni Information Series attendee, Amedeo Cunsolo ’19. “D’Arcy and Adrian also offered some solid insight to potential investors looking to get into the field. Thank you for a great event!”
Since May 2020, the Alumni Association has been hosting the information series in an effort to connect alumni during these challenging times. The Alumni Association has welcomed a variety of panel experts and covered topics from how St. Michael’s College School adapted during a time of online learning to employment law, and tips of staying relevant during a pandemic, among other topics.
