Introducing… PrincipalTalks LIVE

Call it a ‘lunch and learn’ with a slight twist!

An informal, virtual conversation over the noon-hour will serve as the backdrop for a new series set to debut this month for current St. Michael’s College School (SMCS) parents — featuring the school’s principal.

“In a year when we have not been able to have many gatherings or events to meet, greet, and share our lived experiences, especially for the good of our young people, this is an opportunity to connect and converse,” says SMCS Principal James McKinnon. “PrincipalTalks LIVE is simply an opportunity to connect with the parent community.”

Slated to be held several times over the course of the academic year, PrincipalTalks LIVE will debut on Thursday, March 25 at 12 p.m., via Zoom.

“It seems everything we communicate is by email, Edsby, or regular mail,” continues McKinnon. “The concept is born out of our current situation of not having many opportunities to engage at school with parents. The goal is to continue to demonstrate our commitment to transparency, engagement, and communication with our community.”

Current SMCS parents are invited to send any relevant and timely questions about the school upon registering for the event. Participants can also submit questions for Principal McKinnon, via live chat, during the session.

“So much great work goes into providing excellence in learning and student engagement to deliver on Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge,” says McKinnon. “We are missing the opportunity to gather the people, break the bread, and share the stories that make belonging to such a terrific learning community special.”
