The Arts on Display at Club BlueNote 2025

In celebration of the talent and diversity of the arts and the St. Michael’s College School (SMCS) community, the cafeteria will be transformed into an elegant nightclub setting for our annual Club BlueNote on Friday, February 28.

“Guests will be treated to a variety of performances on an elevated stage, enhanced by theatrical lighting and a professional sound system,” says James Oatt, Head of Music and event coordinator. “This annual event allows our students to showcase their passion and appreciation for music in a relaxed and casual setting.”

The evening will feature a special preview by the cast of St. Michael’s spring musical, FOOTLOOSE, alongside performances by the Junior and Senior Jazz Ensembles. Various student-led ensembles will captivate the audience with popular jazz, R&B, and pop music, including vocal solos, duets, small group performances, as well as acoustic and electric guitar pieces, piano compositions, and spoken word presentations.

“This event highlights the incredible diversity of musical talent within our community,” says Oatt. “Each performance promises to bring something unique to the stage, making for an unforgettable night of music.”

To complement the artistic showcase, a selection of refreshments will be available, including a create-your-own pasta dish and salad provided by Chef Jimmy and the Aramark staff and a variety of drinks, coffee, tea, and desserts.
