Basketball Camp

St. Michael’s College School’s (SMCS) Basketball Camps offer boys and girls in Grades 4 to 8 of all experience levels the chance to improve their skills in the sport and have fun in a variety of week-long half-day development camps.

Our basketball camps are divided into four skill levels with kids in Grades 4-6 participating in the morning session and Grades 7 and 8 in the afternoon. The camps will run for one week each from July 31 to August 25, 2023.

SMCS Basketball Summer Camps | Beginner camp

Basketball Camp

Beginner level – No experience required
July 31 to August 4

Grades 4-6

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.* | Co-ed | $350

  • Introduction to basic basketball skills
  • Introduction to rules of basketball
  • Introduction to basic basketball principles and concepts (offensive and defensive)
  • Modified games to promote skill development
  • Focus is on having FUN and LEARNING how to play basketball

In the afternoons, campers will participate in an All Sport Camp where they are introduced to a variety of activities focused on promoting skill development, positive social interactions, and fun.
*Lunch is not provided

Grades 7-9

1 p.m. to 4 p.m. | Co-ed | $250

  • Introduction to basic basketball skills
  • Introduction to rules of basketball
  • Introduction to basic basketball principles and concepts (offensive and defensive)

SMCS Basketball Summer Camps | Intermediate camp

Skill Development Camp

Intermediate level – Some basketball experience (school basketball or house league) required
August 8 to 11

Grades 4-6

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.* | Co-ed | $350

  • Skill development to improve basic basketball skills
  • Focus is on developing skills and teaching basketball concepts (offensive and defensive) while having FUN
  • Players will learn skills/concepts that are essential for playing at the next level

In the afternoons, campers will participate in an All Sport Camp where they are introduced to a variety of activities focused on promoting skill development, positive social interactions, and fun.
*Lunch is not provided

Grades 7-9

1 p.m. to 4 p.m. | Co-ed | $250

  • Skill development to improve basic basketball skills
  • Focus is on developing skills and teaching basketball concepts (offensive and defensive) while having FUN

High Performance Camp

Rep players only – Must have played at least one season of rep basketball
August 14 to 18

Grades 4-6

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.* | Co-ed | $350

  • Advanced skill development
  • Breakdown of offensive/defensive concepts
  • Focus is on improving skills and increasing basketball IQ
  • 60% skill development/training and 40% competitive play
  • This camp is ideal for players that are looking to prepare for the upcoming basketball season

In the afternoons, campers will participate in an All Sport Camp where they are introduced to a variety of activities focused on promoting skill development, positive social interactions, and fun.

  • Focus is on improving skills and increasing basketball IQ
  • 60% skill development/training and 40% competitive play
  • This camp is ideal for players that are looking to prepare for the upcoming basketball season
  • This camp will continue to build upon the progress from the previous week

In the afternoons, campers will participate in an All Sport Camp where they are introduced to a variety of activities focused on promoting skill development, positive social interactions, and fun.
