Under the direction of the Basilian Fathers since 1852, St. Michael’s College School is a leader in Catholic boys’ education in Ontario and Canada.
SMCS is one of three schools run by the Congregation of Basilian Fathers in North America. The schools are located in Novi, Michigan, Houston, Texas and Toronto, Ontario.
President – Fr. Andrew Leung, CSB
Fr. Andrew Leung, CSB was born in Calgary, and completed his Bachelor of Education in Physical Science and Biology at the University of Alberta, Master of Divinity at the University of St. Michael’s College, and Master of Education at the University of Toronto.
He completed his principal papers through the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) and has served as a teacher in Edmonton, Hong Kong, and Toronto.
He was ordained to the priesthood in 2008 for the Congregation of St. Basil (Basilian Fathers) and had been posted to St. Basil’s Parish in Toronto, St. Joseph’s Home for the Aged in Sheung Shui, Hong Kong, St. Michael’s College School in Toronto, and St. Alphonsus and St. Clare Parishes in Edmonton.
During Fr. Leung’s time at St. Michael’s College School (2001-02, 2006-07 and 2013-16), he taught General Science, Physics, and Math and coached the Badminton team. He also served as the school’s Director of Spiritual Life (2015-16).
From 2011-2013, Fr. Leung served the Basilian community as the Basilian Associate coordinator. In 2018, the Archbishop of Edmonton appointed Fr. Andrew as the Archbishop’s Delegate for Catholic Education.
On November 22, 2018, he returned to St. Michael’s College School as Interim President, a position he held until October 10, 2019, when he was appointed to the permanent role of President.
Fr. Leung was a member of the Board of Directors of Detroit Catholic Central High School in Novi, Michigan, from 2019 to 2024. During this period, he also served on the University of St. Michael’s College Collegium in Toronto (2019–2025), joining its Finance and Audit Committee in 2020 and Executive Committee in 2022.
In April 2024, Fr. Kevin Storey, CSB, Superior General of the Basilian Fathers appointed Fr. Leung as Treasurer General of the congregation.
Principal – Philip Wilson
Mr. Philip (Phil) Wilson is a lifelong Catholic
educator with more than 25 years of experience across four dioceses as a teacher, school principal, superintendent, and system leader.He began his career in 1999 as an elementary school teacher with the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board (DPCDSB), teaching at Bishop Scalabrini, Our Lady of Peace, and St. Luke Catholic Elementary Schools. Wilson moved to the Peel District School Board in 2007, where he served as Vice Principal at Dunrankin Drive Public School and Applewood School, and later as Principal at McBride Avenue Public School and then Dolphin Senior Public School. In 2018, Wilson returned to the DPCDSB as principal of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Elementary School.
Wilson was appointed Superintendent of Education with the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board (BHNCDSB) in 2022, where he provided system-level leadership in student achievement, special education, equity and inclusion, faith formation, co-curricular programming, and complex operational matters.
In March 2026, Mr. Wilson was announced as the 32nd Principal of St. Michael’s College School, with his tenure beginning in August 2026.
