Position Available: 
The Assistant Technical Director is responsible for aiding in the planning, management, and supervision of all technical elements of productions, presentations, and related activities assigned for the daily operations of St. Michael’s College School. The position requires a high level of artistic integrity, safety, and an appropriate working environment for artistic and production personnel.
Reports to: Technical Theatre Director
Supervises:N/A
Start Date: ASAP
Internal Contacts: All members of the St. Michael’s College School community, various vendors, and suppliers.
Work Location &amp; Schedule: Based on a 40-hour work week – Regular hours are Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed and arranged in advance.
Rate of Pay: Full-time: Annual salary range: $52,000 to $60,000. Remuneration includes a comprehensive benefits package and a company-defined contribution pension programme.Duties include: 
<ul>
<li>Assume the lead technical responsibility for assigned productions in the school in consultation with the Technical Director; ensure that all technical elements on assigned projects are delivered on schedule and on budget, liaising with theatre and school staff, and troubleshooting technical challenges as required</li>
<li>Produce any plans, construction drawings, and other production paperwork as directed; aid the Technical Director in supervising the building and painting of scenery and décor for SMCS productions as directed</li>
<li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records for purchases, including the maintenance and reconciliation of petty cash floats</li>
<li>Assist in establishing the labour requirements for lighting, sound, video, and scenic elements for all productions as assigned; act as a supervisor for casual technicians as directed</li>
<li>Maintain, in cooperation with other SMCS departments, an accurate inventory and organization of SMCS theatre storage facility</li>
<li>Arrange and perform the pick-up of production supplies as needed</li>
<li>Assist the Technical Director with SMCS facilities and events as assigned; facilitate technical support when required for users who may require technical assistance</li>
<li>Participate in the creation and ongoing implementation of SMCS Health and Safety policies.</li>
<li>Contributes to the overall success of SMCS by accomplishing related results as needed</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned</li>
</ul>

Position Available: 
The Advancement and Donor Services Officer is a key role with aim of expanding donor support of school through effective donor engagement and special events.
Reporting to the Director of Advancement &amp; Alumni Affairs, the Advancement and Donor Services Officer is responsible for key components of all databases essential to Advancement initiatives to achieve fundraising objectives. They provide administrative support to the Office of Advancement.
In this role, you will: 
Database Management and Administration:
<ul>
<li>Manage all aspects of the Advancement databases (Raiser’s Edge NXT and Almabase), including data entry and integrity; use of global functions; production of queries, exports and reports; and maintenance of database policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Update databases as required with new contact information, notes, and actions, while accurately tracking all community engagement activities within the database.</li>
<li>Remain current with all CRA tax receipt rules and regulations.</li>
<li>Process gifts across all platforms and ensure tax receipts are issued are timely and compliant with regulatory authorities and school policies, where required.</li>
<li>Draft, edit, and customize content for stewardship activities including thank you letters and donor appreciation, in consultation with the Director of Advancement.</li>
<li> Ongoing maintenance/updating of mailing lists for both print and digital initiatives (e.g.: Blue Banner Alumni Magazine mailing, and e-newsletters).</li>
<li>Work collaboratively with the Finance Department; prepare batch deposits, assist with monthly reconciliations, donation reports, and support annual audit requests.</li>
<li> Track and update all department-initiated programme and event attendance records in the Advancement database.</li>
<li>Provide accurate, responsive, and professional administrative assistance for day-to-day functioning of the Advancement Office.</li>
</ul>
Donor Services:
<ul>
<li> Respond to donor inquiries in a prompt manner and direct them to appropriate colleagues and sources of information. </li>
<li> Work closely with the Director of Advancement to identify, cultivate, and steward prospective major donors and partnerships.</li>
<li> Review new prospective donors to ensure the ongoing development, expansion, and renewal of the prospect base, to which the school can look for support.</li>
<li> Assist in the implementation of personalized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans for prospective and current donors, preparing relevant materials as required.</li>
<li> Liaise with donors and prospects, including alumni, students, parents, staff, and other stakeholders, to foster relationships and gather relevant information for the database.</li>
<li> Manage follow-up of pledges and recurring monthly giving.</li>
</ul>
Communications and Promotion:
<ul><li> Assist with social media content and may provide articles or content for digital media – Parents’ Weekly and Vision newsletters.</li>
<li>Assist in updating the SMCS Give portion of the school’s website (smcsgive.com)</li>
</ul>
Event Services:
<ul>
<li>Assist with the coordination and execution of Parents’ Association events as assigned (such as Mother &amp; Son Mass and Brunch, Father &amp; Son BBQ) and assists with Advancement signature event planning (such as Homecoming, Order of St. Michael, Turkey Roll &amp; Reunion, Big Blue Benefit) and execution, together with other department members and volunteer committees. This involves preplanning, and activities such as registration, set-up and break-down on-site at the event.</li>
<li>Assist Advancement Team in ensuring event logistics are flawless and programmes flow smoothly, including the coordination of booking venues/catering, registrations, seating arrangements, speakers, and their requirements.</li>
<li> Provide administrative support to the Parents’ Association to help them create and build connections with the SMCS community, increasing school engagement and volunteer participation.</li>
<li>Coordinate post-event review meetings to help design better future events.</li>
<li> Assist with the management of parent volunteer engagement at the school, including recruitment and training as necessary.</li>
</ul>
What you bring to this role: 
<ul>
<li>A commitment to the vocation of Catholic education as it is embodied in the tradition of the Basilian Fathers and the mission and vision of St. Michael’s College School.</li>
<li>Completion of a post-secondary degree/diploma/certificate, preferably in fundraising, business administration, or database management.</li>
<li>3-5 years of experience working in an advancement-type setting, including fundraising or administration, preferably in a not-for-profit environment</li>
<li>Strong proficiency with Blackbaud (RENXT, RE, BBMS), Almabase, MS Office, Canva, and Docusign</li>
<li>Working knowledge of CRA tax receipting requirements.</li>
<li>Experience working confidentially with personal and confidential data, as well as exercise discretion and sound judgement.</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft, proofread and edit a range of written material and can converse over the phone.</li>
<li>Enthusiastic team player with a demonstrated ability to work on own initiative and within a team.</li>
<li>Excellent organizational and time management, administrative, and problem-solving skills.</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to multitask with strict attention to detail and deadlines. Able to work under pressure, prioritize, work with interruptions, and respond quickly to changes and requests.</li>
<li>Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.</li>
</ul>

This position works on-site at the school located at Bathurst St. and St. Clair Ave. W. in Toronto, unless an event dictates otherwise.
Rate of Pay: Salary is commensurate with experience, with a range of $60,000-$75,000. Remuneration includes a comprehensive benefits package and access to participate in the organization’s defined contribution pension programme.

The Role: 
St. Michael’s College School is seeking an organized, skilled, and self-motivating individual to join the Facilities Department as an Arena Operator. This position is responsible for varied duties around the arena that include, but are not limited to: ice installation, removal and maintenance; general building, custodial and maintenance duties; monitoring building, refrigeration and environmental systems. The Arena Operator will also address and respond to inquiries from the public and facility users, ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements in all aspects of their work. The Arena Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the arena for St. Michael’s College School. Arena operations start at 6 a.m. and end by 11:30 p.m., daily.

Supervises: Other arena part-time staff.

External Contacts: Various businesses, suppliers, visitors, and general public.

Hours of Employment: Various positions available with shifts during the day, evening and weekend:
Full-time: Based on a 40-hour work week – 12-month work Part-time: Up to 24 hours per week – seasonal work
During ice removal period, full-time Arena Operators are scheduled to work Monday to Friday during the day. All other positions are based on seasonal schedule.
Rate of Pay: Full-time: Annual salary range: $55,000 to $63,500. Remuneration includes a comprehensive benefits package and a company-defined contribution pension programme. Part-time: $27.50 &#8211; $31.00 per hour

Responsibilities include:
Operations, Maintenance, and Safety Procedures
<ul><li>Perform ice installation, removal, and maintenance to ensure quality ice in the arena</li>
<li>Operates ice maintenance equipment, including but not limited to ice re-surfacer, ice edger, and other power tools in accordance with established procedures/practices and health and safety procedures</li>
<li>Responsible for maintenance of refrigeration and other ice maintenance equipment</li>
<li>Complete daily log sheets, task lists, and other paperwork as required, ensuring proper operation of department and arena, including monitoring refrigeration plant, building systems, and record readings</li>
<li>Responsible for coordinating daily ice flow schedule and activities</li>
<li>General upkeep of both interior and exterior of building, to ensure a safe experience (i.e. cleaning, sweeping, mopping, clearing entrance ways of ice, snow, and debris) and maintaining equipment and supplies inventory</li>
<li>Responsible for minor repairs of the arena (i.e., painting, plumbing, and carpentry)</li>
<li>Ensures that all safety precautions, fire prevention and practices are adhered to according to provincial legislation and municipal by-laws and policies</li>
<li>Reports any incidents of a significant nature, including any required repairs to equipment and property, to the Manager</li>
<li>General opening and closing duties, ensuring facility standards are maintained</li>
<li>Ensures the security of the arena upon closing</li>
<li>Completes reports and documentation as required</li>
<li>Works alongside part-time staff and assists in their training and on-site supervision</li>
<li>Assist in the operation of arena pro shop and snack bar as directed by the Manager</li>
<li>Maintains vending machines and assists with inventory as needed</li>
<li>Accompany and assist contractors and vendors, as required</li>
<li>Takes charge of the arena, as directed by the Manager, including but not limited to accepting bookings for rentals and collecting revenues as required</li>
<li>Participate in department meetings, initiatives, and training activities</li>
<li>Assists with the setup and dismantling of functions being held in the arena or the school, as required</li>
</ul>
Customer Service
<ul><li>Provide excellent customer service to all users and visitors to the arena by answering questions, resolving issues, providing guidance, resources, and direction to help address public inquiries and documenting incidents, as required</li>
<li>Act as a building representative and emergency contact, as required</li>
<li>On-site supervision of internal programming, including league and drop-in activities</li>
<li>Complete required incident/accident reports on the appropriate forms and submit to the Manager</li>
<li>Receive incoming deliveries and assist with transporting to applicable spaces</li>
<li>Act in accordance with federal and provincial legislation as well as school and departmental policies and procedures</li>
<li>Demonstrate commitment to ensuring a respectful and safe workplace</li>
</ul>
Working Conditions
<ul><li>Works at risk of physical hazards, ammonia fumes, equipment, and unruly patrons</li>
<li>Exposure to boiler room ammonia/refrigeration plant room and very cold conditions</li>
<li>Must be able to lift and move heavy items, and able to work from heights</li>
<li>Available to work shift work, evenings, and weekends</li>
<li>Available to work on-call in an emergency, as required</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned</li>
</ul>
What you bring to this role: 
<ul>
<li>Experience with arena operations, in a recreational facility setting with a minimum 2 years of experience with the installation and maintenance of ice, including the operation of arena and cleaning equipment (e.g., floor scrubber) and possess ORFA’s Basic Refrigeration, ORFA’s Certified Ice Technician, and Working at Heights certifications required OR</li>
<li>Experience with arena operations, in a recreational facility setting with a minimum 5 years of experience with the installation and maintenance of ice, including the operation of arena and cleaning equipment (e.g., floor scrubber) with plans to complete ORFA’s Certified Ice Technician and Working at Heights certifications</li>
<li>Minimum Ontario Secondary School Diploma and/or the appropriate level of experience in a field relevant to the position.</li>
<li>Up-to-date First Aid and AED (Automatic External Defibrillators) training are assets</li>
<li>Knowledge and understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act</li>
<li>Implementation and enforcement of general safety policies and procedures</li>
<li>Valid G-class driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract</li>
<li>Excellent communication and customer service skills, including proven ability to problem solve</li>
<li>Strong teamwork and organizational skills</li>
<li>The consistently demonstrated ability to work independently and achieve the desired results</li>
<li>Computer skills, including experience with BAS, O365 (Excel, Word, Outlook)</li>
</ul>
