Dominic Montemurro ’78
Dominic Montemurro is the president of Medi Group Inc., a leading masonry contractor in Ontario, known for its craftsmanship, reliability, and leadership in the construction industry. Montemurro has built a career grounded in integrity and service. His leadership style reflects the values instilled in him from his time at SMCS—values that continue to guide his professional and personal life.
Montemurro’s commitment to service extends beyond his business. He serves on many boards, including the Masonry Contractors Association and the Masonry Council of Ontario. He is a lifelong benefactor and supporter of SMCS, actively supporting traditions such as the Turkey Roll & Reunion and Homecoming, and his ongoing involvement with the SMCS Alumni Association. Montemurro was a passionate supporter of the SMCS Building Fund and actively supports the Enzo Montemurro Bursary and many construction projects required at the school.
Montemurro credits his foundation to the guidance of the Basilian Fathers—especially Frs. Kennedy, CSB, the late Fitzpatrick, CSB, OSM, Zinger, CSB, OSM, Mohan ’48, CSB, OSM. All these men helped shape Montemurro’s lifelong commitment to goodness, discipline, and knowledge.
Family is central to Montemurro’s life. He and his wife, Susan, have been married for 41 years and are proud parents of Matthew ’04 and Devon. Now a devoted nonno to three grandsons—future SMCS grads—he hopes they will carry forward the Montemurro legacy, which includes his late brother Enzo ’81, along with brothers Ralph ’91 and Marc ’93, and over 15 nephews and cousins who have all attended SMCS. Montemurro’s deep-rooted love for family and community continues to inspire those around him.
