Mr. Nick Di Donato ’76

Nick Di Donato, President and CEO of Liberty Entertainment Group, plays an influential role in shaping the present and future of Toronto.

In November 2015, he was appointed Commissioner of the TTC, and recently has undertaken the operation of Casa Loma for the City of Toronto, tasked with preserving and redeveloping this significant Heritage Attraction.

His commitment to civic duty and city building are exemplified by his work on the Board of Directors for “Invest Toronto” and “Tourism Toronto” while working with former Mayor David Miller.

His contribution to culture with the restoration of historic properties and their transformation into world class special event facilities has been recognized with awards such as the “Business Recognition Award” from former Mayor Mel Lastman, and Ontario’s Trillium Award for “Restaurateur of the Year”.

His two sons, Justin ’08 and Luca ’11, are also graduates of St. Mike’s. Despite his hectic schedule, Nick still retains ties to St. Mike’s by donating his time mentoring students, donating his venues, and establishing a family bursary.

Nick Di Donato lives his life according to the advice of Fr. Volpe, CSB ’48, that being a good person is more important than financial or business success.
