St. Michael’s College School Hosts Annual Turkey Roll and Reunion

On November 29, 2024, St. Michael’s College School welcomed over 400 alumni spanning five decades to its most beloved annual tradition—the Turkey Roll and Reunion.

The hallways of SMCS came alive with the energy of familiar faces, as alumni reminisced about cherished memories and rekindled lifelong friendships.

Graduates from the milestone classes of 1975, 1990, 2000, and 2015 were honoured during the event, gathering to commemorate their anniversaries with a special class photo.

The evening offered a moment to reflect on the shared values of Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge, which have shaped St. Michael’s alumni as they ventured into new chapters of life, always carrying the pride and spirit of their St. Mike’s experience.

The celebration began with Mass, providing alumni with a time for prayer and introspection. Afterward, attendees gathered in the gym to enjoy delicious food and lively games. Many took the opportunity to revisit the iconic yellow-bricked halls, soaking in the nostalgia of their school days.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who attended, as well as the dedicated volunteers and sponsors who worked tirelessly to make this cherished event a success.

“I haven’t been to the Turkey Roll since my 10th reunion in 2015. It was wonderful to attend this event and reconnect with alumni from my generation and those from previous generations. Seeing people after so many years and learning that many are doing well was truly heartwarming. It was also great to reconnect with the staff at the school whom I hadn’t seen in several years. No matter where life takes you—whether it’s new places, careers, or experiences—St. Mike’s always feels like home.”

“The recent Turkey Roll was perhaps one of the better ones I have attended. I met former students from the 60s and 70s. Giving out 35-year pins to the Class of 1990 was a special bonus. I just can’t believe how young I look. The food, camaraderie, and memories along with the Advancement Office’s superb organization, made it a perfect night.”

It also offers an excellent chance for recent St. Mike’s graduates to connect with fellow alumni and build relationships that can help expand their professional networks.”

“This year’s Turkey Roll held special significance as it marked the 10th anniversary of my graduation from St. Michael’s College School. The event was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with former classmates, reflect on our shared experiences, and appreciate the lasting sense of community that SMCS fosters. The evening also highlighted the strength of tradition at SMCS, bringing together graduates from various years to celebrate the shared identity of the school’s alumni. It was inspiring to see the passion and pride that remain hallmarks of the St. Michael’s legacy. I feel grateful for the foundation SMCS has provided me with, and for the chance to continue being part of its vibrant and supportive community.”

“Another amazing night was had at the 2024 Turkey Roll. A perfect night as always to catch up with old friends, and to make the acquaintance of new ones. The Turkey Roll is an annual reminder of how great the SMCS alumni community is and will continue to be.”

“To have our graduating Class of 2000 get together again, was truly a blessing. Sharing memories, enjoying the beautiful St. Mike’s campus, and discussing life today, was such a joy!”

“When September rolls around, two things somehow enter and get registered in my mind. The first is our Homecoming and the second is the last Friday of November, that is our Turkey Roll! As September morphs into October and as October falls into the cold of November, this cold melts by thoughts of reliving those most beautiful years of my youth, 1976 to 1981 at St. Mike’s. Time stands still on this day as happiness of great memories reign and are relived. Sadly, not every day is the last Friday of November.”
