A Summer of Fun and Learning: SMCS Camps 2023

As the school year heads down the final stretch and the warmer weather arrives, the heat has turned up on a new slate of offerings available through St. Michael’s College School (SMCS) Summer Camps.

“All of our programmes are developed and led by certified teachers and coaches,” says Steve Antolin ’05, Camp Director. “They have years of experience teaching and coaching in their given field, ensuring your child a high-quality learning experience.”

Now in its ninth year, the SMCS Summer Camps experience has expanded to 19 camps in academics, athletics, and the arts for boys and girls.

New offerings this year include:

  • Spring/Summer Hockey Camps: In addition to our spring/summer hockey teams, hockey skills sessions are now available throughout August. As well, a one-week training camp is scheduled from August 14-18 with on-ice, dry land, and seminar components for high-level players at the U13-16 levels.
  • Strength and Conditioning Programme: New programming this year offers a more deliberate focus on hockey with on-ice sessions. A similar football strength and conditioning programme is also available for experienced athletes.
  • Basketball Camps: Offering revamped programming with tiered development, from high-performance athletes to beginner programmes depending on your child’s needs and interests.

As an added advantage, SMCS camps are all led by certified teachers or coaches. Returning to head up the basketball programme this summer is Mike Selliah, assistant coach of the Ryerson men’s team and head coach of Team Ontario’s U17 men’s basketball team. Also, SMCS alumnus John Dean, head coach of the OHL’s Soo Greyhounds and assistant coach of Canada’s U18 team will lead the on-ice hockey sessions.

“Our coaches are exceptional, having worked with children from the youngest levels all the way up to national programmes. This ensures that no matter who your child is, they will feel both challenged and supported in meeting their goals,” adds Antolin.

Camps run during July and August with pricing starting at $100 per week. To learn more or register, visit SMCSCamps.com.
