A Win for You – A Win for the Programme – A Win for a Student

After a two-year hiatus, the Big M Lottery returns with a new format and a clear goal in mind.

“With the Big M Lottery moving online, our goal is to continue to support the Basilians’ mission of education and provide financial assistance to students in need. This year, we are able to not only engage the St. Michael’s College School community in this fundraising initiative, but the greater community within Ontario,” says Kimberley Bailey, Director of Advancement. “Participants can win cash or their son’s tuition while supporting the Financial Assistance Programme. This programme has been able to assist many families and as a direct result, St. Michael’s continues to educate future Catholic leaders, who contribute to society, lead a life of faith, character, and service.”

This year for the first time, the St. Michael’s College School (SMCS) community can purchase lottery tickets online through a secure and dedicated website, smcsraffle.com.

“With past lotteries, purchasers frequently requested to purchase their lottery tickets online, however, due to lottery licensing restrictions, SMCS was unable to offer online sales,” says Bailey. “SMCS applied for licensing and was approved to move to an online format that we are extremely excited to be able to offer.”

Prizing for the 2022 Big M Lottery is $21,500, $10,750, and $5,375 which can be received as a cash prize or used towards SMCS tuition.

For Danielle and Andrew Powers, 2019 lottery winners and parents of a current SMCS student, participating in the lottery was important to them.

“Participating in the Big M Lottery was a no-brainer,” they said. “We understand the value of fundraising and share the goal of maintaining the highest standards of education at St. Michael’s College School, which the Big M Lottery supports. Winning the grand prize was the icing on the cake — we invested the money towards our son’s education, to support his goal of continuing his studies out-of-province.”
