How to Donate through FRISBE
As St. Michael’s College School cannot issue U.S. tax receipts, donors who live in the United States can make tax-deductible contributions to Friends of Independent School and Better Education (FRISBE) and ask that it consider a grant to St. Michael’s College School. FRISBE is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation established to facilitate contributions from U.S. residents to Canadian educational institutions.
FRISBE’s purpose is to promote and encourage educational institutions emphasising scholarship, sportsmanship, moral character and initiative – all of which we at St. Michael’s subscribe to and encourage in our young men.
As a U.S. resident, there are two ways in which you can make a tax-deductible contribution:
1. Donate by credit card. *
OR
2. Mail a cheque payable to “FRISBE”: 117 East Louisa Street #533 Seattle, WA 98102 U.S.A. along with this form.
IMPORTANT: Please be sure to include your name, mailing address and any requests for use of the funds you would like FRISBE’s Board of Directors to consider, such as the school to which you would like the funds granted and how you would like the school to use the funds.
* NOTE: There is a 2.9% transaction fee for credit card donations; donors will receive a receipt for the gross amount of the transaction, but the amount considered for grants will be net of this transaction fee.
For more information about FRISBE, please email frisbe@frisbe.org.
Make sure your gift goes further with UK Gift Aid
Gift Aid is a tax relief program that allows charities to claim 25% of the tax already paid on all eligible donations made by a UK taxpayer.
This means you can increase your donation to St. Michael’s College School by an extra 25% at no extra cost to you. For example, if you donate £10, this becomes £12.50 with Gift Aid.
St. Michael’s College School is a registered charity with UK Gift Aid.
All individual donations (excluding those made through the Charities Aid Foundation, which are already subject to tax relief) are eligible for the program – including regular gifts such as Standing Orders and Direct Debits.
We can claim Gift Aid on donations made in the last four years and on future donations once we receive your declaration.
