The following committees meet outside of the SMCSPA Executive meetings to organize, report, and execute events as required.
Responsibilities include:
- Supports artistic endeavours of SMCS students by helping faculty and staff execute SMCS Arts Calendar
- Primary responsibility is to coordinate volunteers to perform front-of-house duties at school performances (box office managers, ushers, concessions salespeople, ticket-takers, etc.)
- Support spirit building events for cast/crew/performers and the broader SMCS arts community
Time Commitment: 10 hours/month plus additional time during shows and attend monthly SMCSPA meetings.
Responsibilities include:
- Create working budget for the income and expenditures for the current school year
- Works together with Treasurer to ensure cash resources levels are maintained at an acceptable level
- Consider and approve criteria for funding requests that will enhance the extracurricular experience at SMCS
Time Commitment: ~10 hours/m and attend monthly SMCSPA meetings.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversee, organize and support Class Reps
- Help recruit Class Parents and send communication from the SMCSPA directly to their respective classes
- Help recruit volunteers for school and SMCSPA initiatives throughout the year
Time Commitment: 1-3hours/month and attend monthly SMCSPA meetings.
Responsibilities include:
- Facilitate collection and dissemination of information on SMCSPA meetings, activities and events
- Working with SMCS Director of Communications and Class Reps Coordinators, oversees SMCSPA alignment of communications platforms (Edsby, SMCS Weekly Newsletter, etc.) and considers efficient access and volume of communications
Time Commitment: 1-3hours/month and attend monthly SMCSPA meetings.
Responsibilities include:
- Acts as liaison between the school’s Food Service Director and SMCSPA
- Assists in promoting student focused events organized with Food Service Director
- Discusses and supports the Director of Food Service as needed about fresh and healthy food choices in the cafeteria and vending machine
Time Commitment: 1-2 hours (on high end) and attend monthly SMCSPA meetings.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinate with the school advancement department for school mandated events for executing any fundraising event that the SMCSPA undertakes
- Bring a vision to life as an event planner would
- Will work together with other committees on events when appropriate
Time Commitment: as required and attend monthly SMCSPA meetings.
Responsibilities include:
- Working with student environmental leaders
- Research, consult, and source environmentally responsible and sustainable options for organizing and executing fundraising and other school community events
Time Commitment: 1-3 hours a month in addition to any required meetings and all PA monthly meetings.
Responsibilities include:
- Attends events on behalf of the SMSCPA and acts as a liaison between SMCSPA and other independent school PAs
- SMCSPA meetings on what has been learned from each event
- Strong set of communication skills and knowledge of the school volunteer infrastructure
Time Commitment: 2-3 hours/month, as required and attend monthly SMCSPA meetings.
Responsibilities include:
- Works to recruit new volunteers for the PA, especially at the welcome days in June for families
- Develops a working database of all volunteers
- Directs all contact information to the appropriated committee chairs
Time Commitment: 3-4 hours initially and attend monthly SMCSPA meetings.
