SMCSPA Set To Host Double Blue Gala in Support of Students

St. Michael’s College School Parents’ Association (SMCSPA) is getting set to host their largest fundraising initiative of the year. Against the backdrop of the Broadview Hotel, the annual Double Blue SMCSPA Gala takes place on Friday, November 14, 2025. “All of the money we raise at the event goes back to the boys; enriching teams and clubs’ programming,” says Krysta Davies Foss, SMCSPA President. With SMCS home to more than 50 athletic teams and more than 60 clubs, many co-curricular activities benefit from generous Parents’ Association donations to enrich their experience through initiatives, special events, and new and improved equipment. “Each year we get requests for funding from teachers, coaches, and student leaders, all looking for support for their various initiatives,” says Davies Foss. “We try to make sure we fund programmes that touch as many students as possible, in a wide range of activities. In previous years, we have purchased a new piano, a 3D printer, basketball nets, cooking lessons, robotics equipment, sponsored mental health initiatives, cultural clubs, snacks during exam time, and so much more. I always wish there was more to give, but thanks to the generosity of our parents, we are able to support our boys in targeted, deliberate ways.” Last year’s sold-out gala at the Toronto Lawn Tennis Club raised more than $50,000. “Our Parents’ Association has two objectives—to connect with parents and build a community with our families, and to raise money to enhance and support the many co-curricular events we offer at St. Mike’s. The gala is an opportunity to do both.” This year’s gala theme is ‘City Chic’. The evening will feature a DJ, dancing, and a silent and online auction with many incredible items, including themed gift baskets. “The Gala Committee is being led for the second year by Lindsay Cox and Patricia Carr,” says Davies Foss. “Planning is
